CFS is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Welding Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding inspection, NDT techniques, and industry standards with a minimum of 5 years of experience in large scale manufacturing.

This team member will:
Performs Welding Engineering duties to support daily welding operationsApplies technical engineering skillset to analyze process efficiency, troubleshoot and reduce incidence of defects, perform quality control functions, and drive schedule and cost savingsEvaluates, applies and develops complex welding specifications in cooperation with the customerPerform oversight and audits on inspections of welded joints, structures, and components according to relevant codes, standards, and project specificationsWrites weld qualification reports, weld procedure specifications, and work instructionsSet up welding qualification test campaigns and interpret mechanical testing and NDE resultsEnsure compliance with welding procedures, material specifications, and quality control requirements.Conduct visual inspections, non-destructive testing (NDT), and dimensional checks as per project requirementsReview and interpret welding drawings, P&ID, and technical documentsProvide guidance and support to welding personnel to ensure proper techniques and procedures are followedPrepare inspection reports, documentation, quality records (ITRs) and nonconformances as needed in accordance with company proceduresCollaborate with construction managers and project engineers, to address welding-related issues and ensure project successSupport other mechanical testing and welding inspection needs as requiredInterface with Technicians on NCRs related to qualityThe ideal candidate will have most, if not all, of these requirements:
High School DiplomaEngineering Degree – Undergraduate studies5+ years of experience as CWIStrong knowledge of welding processes, materials, and NDT techniquesRelevant experience performing welding engineering or similar metal product processing; generally 4 or more years desiredResearch and development experience in welding processes and/or welding metallurgyTechnical understanding of stainless-steel welding metallurgyFamiliarity with industry codes and standards such as ASME, API, ASTM, and AWSAdditional experience and/or qualifications:
Certification as a Welding Inspector (CWI) from the American Welding Society (AWS) or equivalent certificationExperience in Oil & Gas, Aerospace or Power Generation industriesUndergraduate Degree in Welding, Welding Technology, Metallurgical or Materials Engineering from an ABET accredited program/universityMasters Degree in a technical fieldAbility to occasionally lift up to 50 lbsPerform activities such as typing, standing, or sitting for extended periods of timeWillingness to travel or work required nights/weekends/on-call occasionallyDedication to safety to mitigate hazards that may include heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead, high voltage, and cryogenics#LI-Onsite
