Role Summary:

The opening is located at our Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, facility and reports directly to a Sr. Manager, Embedded Software In-Vehicle Experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Develop best in class real-time 3D visualizations across a variety of applications.
- Create progressive, intuitive, and reliable applications for the Rivian in-vehicle experience.
- Collaborate with the UX/UI design team to realize beautiful, cutting edge designs.
- Test the in-vehicle experience in the lab and in Rivian prototype vehicles.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues found during testing.
- Help drive research into new technologies and interfaces.
- Collaborate with other divisions in understanding and sharing of technology roadmaps, portfolios and intellectual property.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- 6+ years’ experience with software development life cycle experience, from requirements gathering through to implementation and maintenance.
- 6+ years’ experience with modern object-oriented languages: Java, Kotlin, C++. Python is a plus.
- Experience with Android application frameworks.
- Deep experience working with 3D real time graphics. Experience with major game engines required (ex.: Unreal Engine, etc)
- Experience working with 3D models, digital materials, and lighting, with an eye for photorealism.
- Deep understanding of user-friendly, immersive, reactive user interface development.
- is a plus.
- Working knowledge of RESTful APIs and HTTP.
- Experience in game development is strongly preferred. Automotive electronics and/or consumer electronics is a plus.
- Proficiency in authoring animations and interactive experiences.
