Role Description
The Project Engineering team within the Commercial Operations group at Form will be instrumental in the deployment, commissioning, and operations of Form's projects and products and will be invaluable in scaling our technology in the market.
We are seeking an experienced project engineer to lead the engineering of utility-scale projects utilizing Form’s multi-day energy storage product. In this role, you will oversee project engineering from early conceptual design through detailed design and execution. You will take the lead in managing and solving technical challenges related to the design, engineering, procurement, and construction of pilot and commercial scale projects. You will work closely with EPC partners to align plant-level design with product requirements. This is a critical role to ensure the successful execution and deployment of Form’s multi-day battery product and its integration with customer systems. The ideal candidate should be comfortable communicating frequently with internal and external stakeholders and shall be capable of working both collaboratively and independently.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to join a small growing team at Form to help deploy our first projects and to ramp our deployments at scale.
The salary range for this role is $142,970 - $176,255 . The range listed is what we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and may be modified in the future. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.

Lead design engineering teams and EPC contractors in design development, including site layouts, equipment general arrangements, single-line and three-line diagrams, network architecture drawings, detailed engineering, and perform constructability reviews Develop and own the balance of plant design package, such as site civil/structural design, site mechanical design, site electrical design, and technical support for site safety planning, ensuring compliance with relevant federal, state and local agency codes and regulationsSupport interconnection and permitting applications and processes, lead engagement with balance of plant equipment providers, and support construction, installation, and commissioning of projects and systemsWork closely with Form’s systems engineering and product management teams to document product requirements and technical specificationsSupport project manager from initial planning to deployment, especially with document control, budget oversight, quality control, schedule, contract management and value engineering for budget and schedule optimizationTravel to client or project sites up to 30% of the time What You'll Bring:
3+ years of experience in renewable energy project engineering or deployment and a bachelor’s degree in civil, structural, mechanical, or electrical engineeringDemonstrated track record of executing utility-scale energy storage and/or renewable energy projects from development to operation, including feasibility studies, project planning, preliminary design, detailed design and engineering, permitting, interconnection, troubleshooting, and commissioning Solid understanding of energy storage systems, including power electronics, AC and DC systems, switchgears, transformers, meters, EMS, SCADA, and other balance of plant components Strong knowledge of codes and standards for ESS installation, including NFPA70, NFPA 855, IEEE 1547, IEEE 2800, UL9540, UL9540AExcellent written and oral communication and the ability to coordinate and engage with external stakeholders, including clients, owner’s engineers, EPC contractors, independent engineers, and AHJsResourceful team player capable of collaborating with multiple cross-functional teams, including systems engineering, product management, supply chain, and manufacturing
