What You Will Be Doing:

Helion is hiring a Senior Production Operations Engineer to manage design, implementation, and refinement of important production systems. This is a unique opportunity to collaborate with other teams (supply chain, production, engineering, test operations), directly influence the commissioning timeline for Polaris, Helion’s next generator, and lay the groundwork for Helion’s transition to generator mass-manufacturing. You will bring a data-driven approach to the hardest challenges affecting the Polaris production timeline. You will report to the Senior Manager of Production at our Everett, WA location.

The role may expand based on interests and performance; initial responsibilities will include:

  • Design and implement rate-based assembly lines and cells for high-volume subassemblies with support from production and engineering leadership (floor layout, tooling, inventory, cell level-loading, etc.)

  • Gather data (labor hours, cycle times, fallout, etc.) to identify production bottlenecks, and propose and deploy solutions (design changes, process changes, equipment, automation, etc.)

  • Develop new business processes that align with production team growth, including manufacturing execution, non-conformance management, process control, process safety, etc.

  • Identify high return-on-investment capabilities, including capital equipment and software capabilities that improve manufacturing processes (partnering with production, finance, operations teams)

  • Improve Helion’s plan for generator mass-manufacturing, including incorporating changes based on new generator data, refining factory models, and communicating updates to the executive team

Required Skills:

  • bachelor’s degree in engineering, with 8 years of technical work experience that includes setup and improvement of production systems

  • Hands-on engineering or manufacturing experience in rapid hardware prototyping and iteration

  • Hands-on engineering or manufacturing experience in rate-based and high-volume manufacturing

  • Experience communicating with and influencing partners across organizational lines

  • Experience in cradle-to-grave ownership of complex engineering or production scopes

The pay range for this position is $135k-175k. This pay range may be inclusive of several career levels and will be narrowed based on several factors, including the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
