Senior Payroll Specialist

Your role and your team:

Lilium is looking for a payroll specialist with an end-to-end knowledge of payroll processes and exposure to UK / US Payroll + Benefits to make Lilium’s payroll process scalable, ensuring we are meeting the compliance requirements of a global aerospace company and to offer a reliable and smooth experience for employees.

Lilium is currently delivering payroll for currently approx. 850 employees of which 90% are located in Germany. The remaining 10% are located in the UK, USA, (plus Switzerland and Spain). Payroll is currently performed via external providers, ADP. 

Your Day to Day:

• Prepare and check the payroll cycles (UK and US)
• Monitor and improve the quality of the end-to-end payroll process. Ensure payroll compliance (i.e. process documentation)
• Optimize benefit administration model 
• Fullfil reporting requirements for authorities and auditors 
• Prepare & check payroll runs for UK and US plus Shadow payroll UK-Germany for approx.60 employees in 3 countries
• Be the point of contact for Absence in Workday
• Check and release employee expenses (reimbursement currently via payroll in all countries)

• Manage employee enrolment in pension / insurance programs. Set-up salary sacrifice and liaise with authorities to clarify individual cases. 
• Liaise with insurance & health care providers to handle invoices, contracts, enrolments, exits...
• Liaise with Finance to organize pay-outs and meet Finance compliance requirements

• Collect all employee events with payroll impact from HR system Workday (e.g. new hires, departures, salary increases, expenses, taxable benefits)
• Initiate corrections in HR system (Workday) via People Operations team. 
• Communicate all employee events incl payroll impact to external payroll providers and answer their questions

• Contact employees with missing data (e.g. Tax ID, bank account...)
• Check payslips submitted by providers – initiate corrections
• Communicate payroll pay-out amounts for salary and benefits by legal entity to Finance and Treasury
• Ensure payroll deductions for cross-border employees UK-Germany are correctly performed with KPMG
• Answer payroll-related employee questions.

Your Profile:

• Experience of the end-to-end payroll process gained within an international environment

• Experience of US payroll and benefits (UK experience would be beneficial) 

• A team player with the ability to build relationships across functions

• Ability to work in a growing environment with “young” processes and systems

• Ability to cope with ambiguity and rapid change

• Ability to work at administrative as well as conceptual levels

• Reliable, organized & accurate
