About the company:
Crusoe's mission is to accelerate the abundance of energy and intelligence. We’re crafting the engine that powers a world where people can create ambitiously with AI — without sacrificing scale, speed, or sustainability.
Be a part of the AI revolution with sustainable technology at Crusoe. Here, you'll drive meaningful innovation, make a tangible impact, and join a team that’s setting the pace for responsible, transformative cloud infrastructure.
About the Role
Crusoe Cloud's Network Engineering team is looking for an ambitious, experienced team player to help design and plan our global edge, backbone, and data center fiber network for High-Performance Compute (HPC) clusters with GPUs. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, self-directed, and passionate about sustainable, energy-efficient infrastructure. You'll bring excellent analytical and comunication skills and thrive in a collaborative environment.
As a Network Infrastructure Planner, you will be responsible for managing the planning and development of Crusoe Cloud’s network infrastructure. You will be experienced in planning and designing physical network infrastructure (dark fiber, colocation, and ISP cabling), optical transport technologies, backbone network engineering design principles, and you will have good market knowledge of network infrastructure providers in your region. This role requires extensive collaboration, driving strategic planning initiatives, designing high-availability solutions at scale, and delivering precise documentation. You will actively drive backbone infrastructure solutions for Crusoe Cloud, working with various teams to meet our customers’ demands.
Capacity Forecasting: Develop and maintain complex demand models to predict network capacity requirements across backbone, data center, and edge locations.
Strategic Roadmap: Work closely with Network Engineering to translate high-level designs into actionable multi-year deployment plans.
Fiber Feasibility for new sites: Evaluate new data center sites for network viability, including fiber path diversity, latency profiles, and interconnection opportunities.
Circuit Management: Oversee the lifecycle of terrestrial and subsea lit services and dark fiber, from initial RFP through grooming and decommissioning.
Optimization: Identify opportunities to optimize network spend and performance by analyzing traffic patterns and peering/transit costs.
Technology Roadmap: Track developments in IP and optical technology roadmaps and incorporate emerging capabilities into planning.
Scenario Modeling: Model ad-hoc, what-if scenarios — including greenfield and brownfield demand and supply situations — to inform strategy.
Fiber Topology: Oversee backbone fiber topology evolution to meet resiliency and latency requirements.
Fiber Acquisition: Work with engineering, finance, and sourcing to support backbone fiber acquisition strategies.
