What you will do:  

As a Senior Mechanical Technician, you will primarily contribute to the company’s test and pilot systems’ availability and reliability.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain and troubleshoot a variety of chemical and electrochemical systems ranging from R&D to pilot scales
  • Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Help develop and document appropriate preventative maintenance and calibration procedures
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance to equipment and systems, including pump and valve rebuilds, cleaning, tube and pipe replacements
  • Perform routine calibrations and checks on various instruments measuring parameters such as temperature, pressure, and flow rates
  • Contribute to the construction of new test systems and supporting infrastructure
  • Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and outside agencies as needed
  • Read, understand, and comply with all workplace health and safety policies, safe work practices, and company policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

What we need you to bring to the team:   

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 8+ years of experience as a technician or operator in chemical manufacturing or R&D environments
  • Strong understanding of fluid flow processes and hands-on experience with pumps, valves, filters, and instrumentation
  • Proficient in following established procedures troubleshooting equipment, and solving routine problems independently
  • Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in or able to quickly learn Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, and SharePoint
  • Completes tasks in resourceful and effective ways leveraging in-depth experience
  • Works on assignments requiring judgment and initiative and understands the implications of work to make recommendations for solutions
  • Encounters problems that are varied and non-routine requiring basic problem-solving techniques to clearly identify and resolve issues
  • Scope of impact includes department and team level with potential influence on related activities outside of immediate work area
  • Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may serve as an informal team leader by coaching or mentoring junior employees
  • Interprets and explains data or information to deliver messages to audiences who may not be familiar with the subject matter
  • Demonstrates professionalism teamwork and a proactive approach to problem solving

What we want you to bring to the team:   

  • Technical certification or associate’s degree in a related field
  • 10+ years of industry experience working as a technician or operator in a chemical, manufacturing, or R&D environment (excludes internships, co-ops, and other school projects)
  • Experience with basic troubleshooting of low-voltage power, signal, and electrical equipment
  • Experience contributing to preventative maintenance programs for industrial systems and equipment
  • Experience or the desire to be in a dynamic startup environment
  • Ability to prioritize and execute, with a high level of detail, on daily tasks effectively with minimal supervision

Compensation:   

  • The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $35.50-$39.00 per hour and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education.
