About the Job:

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for all aspects of current and future product design needs, coordinating with contract manufacturers, overseeing and optimizing production and assembly of all Augmenta products, as well as taking part in R&D initiatives.

More specifically, the core responsibilities will include the following:

• Constantly improve Augmenta’s product offering either by improving existing designs or creating new products
• Develop 3D Designs using standard commercial software (Autodesk Inventor)
• Understand product needs and design in order to achieve requirements (structural, thermal, and specific requirements of product operation)
• Design in order to achieve the required standard classification (IP rating, EMC restrictions)
• Efficiently coordinating with other team members (for electronics design, camera system, etc)
• Test and evaluate prototype designs on the above-mentioned aspects (structural, operational, assembly, serviceability, etc)
• Taking part in R&D initiatives

Secondary responsibilities:

• Coordinate with production in order to optimize the design in terms of assembly, QC, serviceability, budget, and availability of standard parts.
• Handle communication with CMs (produce mechanical drawings on a good detail level and be able to communicate specific requirements to manufacturers, as well as tracking progress, communicating production problems, etc)
• Document changes and communicate them with all teams involved
• Estimate costs and assist in budgeting
• Assist in the preparation of processes for assembly, testing, and operation
• Assist in vendor evaluation in terms of manufacturing quality
• Design packaging
• Prepare documentation either for manufacturing or manuals

Requirements

About you:

Requirements:

• Degree in mechanical engineering
• Have a good understanding of mechanics and material science
• Excellent knowledge of generating 3D product designs (e.g. SolidWorks, NX, Fusion / Inventor etc)
• Adhere to good engineering practice and be knowledgeable on the restrictions of common manufacturing processes (machining, molding, metal forming, 3D printing)
• Attention to detail is a must

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of basic electrical/electronic circuits for better communication with other team members
• Track record of designing products for harsh environments (IP rating, vibration, etc)
• Track record of handling orders for prototyping and production level with manufacturers
