Role Description
We’re looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our advanced manufacturing team. This team is responsible for developing novel processes used for manufacturing electrodes to be deployed in Form Energy’s commercial product. This role will be responsible for establishing the initial pilot lines at our facility in PA. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of process development experience and creativity used to develop world class pilot operations. You’ll work closely with equipment design engineers, cell design engineers, material scientists, supply chain, operations, facilities, and outside consultants. As we design, build, and ramp up equipment operations, expect to become deeply entrenched in the intersection space of equipment design, process engineering, and materials engineering, as the team works toward a common goal of manufacturing high performance electrodes, in high volume. What You'll Do:
Partner with the advanced manufacturing, battery design, facilities, and supply chain teams to stand up our pilot operation lines with a focus on safety and performanceEstablish processes which are safely capable of producing full scale battery electrodesDocument and improve the process steps required to deliver electrodes capable of use in battery assembly and testingTrain technicians and process engineers on new manufacturing equipment and processesWork with a diversity of teams inside and outside the company to achieve overall manufacturing successBe a champion for safety in the development of new equipment and processesWhat You'll Bring:
5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or pilot line environment Experience using statistical methods for making process development decisionsExperience in the operation of ovens and/or furnaces and material handling equipmentExperience designing safe processes involving hazardous locations Strong interdisciplinary communicator, across a range of engineering and business functionsDemonstrated track record of innovative development and engineeringBS required in Chemical / Mechanical Engineering or related fieldBattery and fabrication experience is a plus
