About This Role

The Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance team is responsible for ensuring food safety, quality, and compliance throughout our operations. We are seeking a motivated Senior Quality Manager who will support Apeel’s Quality function through the strategic implementation of Apeel’s Global Documentation & Records Programs and training programs. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliant processes and systems are implemented and support efficiency in Apeel’s operations. As the expert in global regulations for documentation and records for food and agriculture industries, you will be accountable for training and maintaining Apeel’s records in an audit-ready state.

What You’ll Do 

  • Lead implementation of the strategy for Apeel’s Documentation & Records program, including internal product labels and permitting, in compliance with global regulations.
  • Play a key role in the execution of Apeel’s processes for electronic and paper controlled documents and records, including the electronic systems that are in use.
  • Manage a team that supports the execution of Apeel’s documentation program, including coaching & feedback and optimization of work to ensure the development of people and organizational capabilities for the RCQA team.
  • Evaluate and drive the selection of a compliant document management software, as needed.
  • Effectively communicate (to all levels of the organization) the vision for Apeel’s Documentation & Records program, as well as the Quality Management System, including Good Documentation Practices.
  • Develop key partnership with cross functional teams to ensure implementation of Apeel Quality Requirements consistently with compliance to regional, & country specific GMPs.
  • Oversee the management of Apeel’s compliance-mandated training programs.
  • Manage the implementation and maintain compliance for Apeel’s product labels and permits & licenses. 
  • Drive business issue resolution and continuous improvement acting as a cross functional liaison between Operations teams. Capture key learnings, best practices, potential issues / trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide audit support to global Apeel teams by being the expert in Apeel’s records management system.

What You Bring 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • 5+ years experience in managing Quality Management System 
  • Experience in a regulated industry, such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices, chemicals, or food industry
  • 2+ years leadership experience
  • Ability to travel up to 20%, including international travel
  • Experience with electronic documentation system, such as MasterControl or ETQ

Preferred Qualifications

  • Business level proficiency in Spanish (C1 or C2)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to navigate and lead a team through rapid growth and ambiguous situations
