Zoox is transforming mobility-as-a-service by developing a fully autonomous, purpose-built fleet designed for AI to drive and humans to enjoy.
Zoox is looking for an Image Quality Engineer to support the tuning and testing of our production camera’s automotive image sensors for autonomous vehicles. The Image Quality Engineer should be able to analyze image data from opto-electrical systems using standard software tools (e.g. python, MATLAB, ImageJ, etc) and should be able to communicate effectively with suppliers to understand ISP and image sensor capability. The candidate should have experience tuning image signal processing algorithms and a basic understanding of geometric optics and image formation. Ideally, the candidate would have some background in ISP development. The candidate should be familiar with modern imaging techniques, such as high dynamic range (HDR) and tone-mapping. The image quality engineer should have experience designing and performing tests in the lab and in the field to verify detector and ISP performance.
