Role Description
As the Senior Government Affairs Manager for West Virginia you will be Form’s primary representative to local, regional, and state policymakers as we build our first manufacturing plant in Weirton, West Virginia. Our new plant will bring direct and indirect economic benefit to the State as we create 750 jobs locally in the coming years. You will lead the development and execution of government affairs and policy strategies to support the success of our manufacturing activities in West Virginia. You will collaborate closely with others on the Policy and Regulatory team to build trusting, collaborative relationships with regional leaders. You will also work closely with Form’s Weirton, West Virginia community liaison and PeopleOps and Talent Acquisition teams to secure regional partnerships and resources that will help Form build a diverse local workforce that has access to the resources they need to thrive, as well as the Communications team. This role is an opportunity to showcase your leadership and build upon your relationships with West Virginia policymakers to support Form Energy’s presence as a new business in West Virginia and to manage diverse policy issues, including accelerating grid reliability and resiliency with greater renewables on the grid and expanding markets for multi-day energy storage.

What You'll Do:
Develop and execute government affairs and policy strategies to support the success of Form’s manufacturing activities and business in West Virginia, including, but not limited to, economic development, tax, labor, social services, and community benefits in conjunction with other key departments at Form Cultivate relationships with key local, regional and state government decision-makers and with stakeholders in West Virginia Independently represent Form’s interests before senior government officials and in public forums in West Virginia Proactively build partnerships and coalitions with regional NGOs and institutions to help support Form’s manufacturing operations, including but not limited to attracting and retaining a skilled and diverse local workforce that has access to the social services and physical infrastructure they need to thrive Direct the day-to-day work of supporting lobbyists Manage responsibilities under incentive agreements with state and local governments Contribute to regional clean energy policy advocacy efforts to develop markets for Form’s iron-air batteries What You'll Bring:
Minimum 6 years of experience working in policy advocacy or government affairs rolesStrong personal relationships with diverse West Virginia policy-makers and regional nongovernmental organizations, and an intimate understanding of local political context Significant experience playing a leading role advancing industrial policy, labor policy, economic development policy, energy policy, or environmental policy in West Virginia Significant experience supporting strategic communications efforts, and demonstrated clear, concise, and engaging verbal and written communication Significant experience developing and executing government affairs strategies in West Virginia Strong commercial orientation, with ability to proactively identify business needs that government advocacy can address, and to self-develop government affairs strategies to deliver results Passion for clean energy, a working knowledge of energy policy issues and stakeholders, and a willingness to contribute to regional state energy policy advocacy efforts to help develop markets for Form’s iron-air batteries Flexibility and adaptability to quickly adjust to changing priorities and circumstances
