Your role and your team:
We are looking for an outstanding Senior FPGA Architect to join our Electronic & Electrical Engineering Department and shape the future of urban e-mobility.
You will be part of an interdisciplinary Integrated Project Team dedicated to the full product life cycle implementation and certification of custom Airborne Electronic Hardware systems to be integrated and installed into the Lilium jet. In this role you will report directly to the Hardware Electronics Functional Manager.
You will interface directly the project teams involved in aircraft design and development, contributing directly to safety critical electronic and electrical systems design, implementing state of the art technology solutions and integrating them with propulsion, avionic and energy systems. You will have the chance to play a fundamental role in supporting the full FPGA product lifecycle, from feasibility and requirement definition to production transition.
From interfaces definitions and requirement capture to detailed design, safety analysis and testing, you will be involved in formal development in compliance with aerospace standards and regulatory guidelines. You will implement a product development process, and the relevant control processes, according to SAE ARP4754A, RTCA/DO254.
Your Day to Day:
- As a project lead for FPGA Design and development, collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to design, verify and validate project functional, safety and performance requirements, analyse the verification results and define verification metrics.
- Implement and optimize FPGA embedded control algorithms using the Mathworks Toolchain.
- Capture, author, link and validate hardware requirements and implement FPGA development lifecycle according to RTCA/DO254 and AMC 20-152A guidelines.
- As a subject matter expert, you will develop and manage relationships with design partners, suppliers and engineering service companies. You will also have the opportunity to play an active role in Lilium's business development plans and in the pursuit of new opportunities.
- Work together with program management regarding activity planning and responsible for milestone achievement and program deliverables.
- Interface with Electronic Hardware and Software teams, collaborating to project planning, design and system integration of Airborne Electronic Hardware units.
- Work on any ad-hoc projects related to technology readiness, prototyping or product development.
- Lead technical presentations, product evaluations and benchmarks.
- Play an active role in defining and tuning the Lilium Electronic Design System, processes and tool chain.
Your Profile:
- MSc. in electrical/electronic engineering (or similar degree).
- 7+ years of professional experience in Aerospace industry, with focus on power and analog systems design applied to aircraft electrical/electronic propulsion and energy distribution systems.
- Experience with electronic boards design life cycle for safety critical applications in compliance with DO-254 guidelines.
- Experience on FPGA/SoC design and assurance process in accordance with DO-254 guidelines. Familiar with FPGA architecture, simulations, synthesis, using VHDL and/or Verilog coding language.
- Experience with FPGA Simulation and advanced verification methods; familiar with regressive test bench architectures, as well as SystemVerilog/UVM test benches along with the constraint random verification and SVA.
- Experience with aerospace certification processes at system and Airborne Electronic hardware level, implementing development assurance process in compliance RTCA/DO-254.
- Ability to author development and verification plans and test cases, as well as architect and implement test benches and test rigs.
- Familiar with Safety and reliability processes; FTA and FME(C)A, derating analysis;
- High level of self-reliance and an autonomous target-oriented work style.
- Fluent English language skills are essential, Fluent German or any other language would be beneficial.
- Strong motivation to help build structures and processes to improve the overall design quality and integrity
- Ability and willingness to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment is required.
