Product Costing 

  • Estimating and ownership of costs for Carbon Clean standardised product offerings 
  • Maintaining and revising of Product cost estimate accuracy as design is matured and optimised to ensure “latest” cost data is available to Stakeholders  
  • Propose and lead, in specific areas, the development of estimation tools, benchmarks, norms to improve quality of the future product roadmap estimationDefining cost opportunities related to continuous product development – future ‘should-cost’ bases approach.  
  • Assert and act as Carbon Clean’s main source for Product Cost data & intelligence  
  • Gathering performance data and supplier costs to support company product cost basis, benchmarking database and future estimating norms. 

Project Estimating  

  • Generating class 5 to class 3 estimates utilising company process and procedures for Carbon Capture Projects. 
  • Defining, maintaining and owning estimating processes  
  • Understanding scope uncertainty and risk to determine sufficient contingency provisions 
  • Understand and apply estimating norms, factors and allowances to project cost components 
  • Assure and challenge the technical elements to ensure their consistency in regards to the defined scope 
  • Detailed review and normalisation of supplier estimates supporting subcontracting. 
  • Maintaining consistency, accuracy and transparency in the generation of all estimates 
  • Act as a process owner for collecting, providing and documenting costs during all project phases until final handover to Cost Control. 
  • Prepare and maintain Estimating Concept and Strategy as well as a consistent record of Basis of Estimate. 

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should have a combination of the below knowledge, skills, and experience: 

  • Highly familiar with process industies/chemical plant components and cost models; specifically related to product line plant costs (equipment supply) would be beneficial. 
  • Successful development of estimating process and models  
  • Ability to prepare and develop project estimates from class 5 to fully detailed class 3 estimates 
  • Creation of basis of estimates, defining methods and estimating approach. 
  • Advanced knowledge of various estimating methodologies  
  • Highly developed approach to using risk management and uncertainty to create appropriate reserve and contingency. 
  • Ability to work with stakeholders, internal and external, to review and challenge scope and estimates. 
  • Experience applying impact of market price inflation and currency exchange rate fluctuations for future product cost evolution. 
  • Able to work independently to complete assigned estimates with minimal supervision. 
  • Several years' experience in estimating and cost management within an a Product selling organisation for industrial use /Process industry is essential  
  • Demonstrable commercial acumen 
  • Experience engaging with supply chain for cost data gathering.
