Your Role and your Team: 

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be part of the H&S team as a vEFK (Responsible Electrician), accountable for the electrical safety on machinery and production equipment.

You will...

  • Be the Electrical vEFK of the machinery and production equipment at Lilium eAircraft. Perform technical verifications, design validation, electrical analysis of safety systems (guarding, safety PLC, etc..), and provide technical support related to Electrical Safety for the engineering team members.
  • Accountable to verify the purchase of machinery (FAT, SAT, electrical design, specifications, etc..), installation, operation and maintenance, including the periodical tests of the installed electrotechnical equipment at machines according to machinery directive 2006/42/EC and VDE 0113-1 at the facilities of Lilium eAircraft. 
  • Lead the electrical specification standard, release to vendor and quote technical evaluation and ensure compliance with European standards design reviews, including preliminary automation design, concept development.
  • Develop and establish test plans for the electrical safety system and execution at vendor and at Lilium facility during installation and buy-off.
  • Develop and maintain electrical equipment standards for machinery acceptance in a regulated environment.
  • Support the Project Technical Lead with review and approval of work breakdown structures and design requirements in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Review test and validate electrical design of systems at suppliers’ sites.
  • Understand standards for European manufacturers, provide technical support for all processes (e.g., design verification, production, prototyping) relating to the components of the projects, including review and approval of engineering control system drawings and analyses, technical documents, and process specifications.
  • Investigation of technical solutions together with suppliers on electrical safety design.
  • Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed for all work completed.
  • Research and specify electrical and controls components.

Your Profile:

  • Electrical degree and are ideally specialized in production process automation and validation.
  • Minimum of 10 years related experience in Electrical systems for automation with a good understanding of; Electrical Design, Safety PLC Control Systems, Equipment Design, Safety System Designs, including pneumatic schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Knowledge of European electrical safety standards
  • Experience creating technical specifications for manufacturing equipment validation.
  • Experience introducing new products and new processes from a prototype environment to a production environment
  • Well organized with meticulous attention to detail
  • Introduce validated processes into production, and train maintenance and production teams to support after deployment into production
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems, including the ability to identify and assess risks related to projects, develop mitigation measures and make effective decisions in complex situations that balance competing interests.
  • Advanced critical thinking skills and analysis ability
  • Executes FAT and SAT functions both on electrical hardware and software (Safety PLC), during manufacturing and on-site implementation.
  • Interacting with product development, process engineering, leadership, and manufacturing teams to determine their needs and project requirements
  • Creating and updating electrical schematics, specifications and documentation
  • Developing and completing process equipment validations and documentation
  • Transferring knowledge to engineers, and manufacturing teams supporting the equipment long term
  • Good documentation skills, including ability and willingness to adapt to established documentation requirements and expectations while providing input toward or driving positive improvement
