About the Role:

This position is responsible for representing Loam Bio in the sale and distribution of its biological microbial products to dealers and along with agricultural carbon programs for farmers in an assigned geographical territory. Responsible for achieving maximum sales and increased market penetration of Loam brand offerings. Responsibilities include:

  • Build and nurture strong, long-term relationships with key customers, including farmers, agricultural cooperatives, and other stakeholders in the Iowa region. Understand their unique needs, challenges, and goals to provide tailored solutions and exceptional customer servic
  • Develop and execute strategic a sales strategy to drive revenue growth and achieve sales targets for the Iowa region, in partnership with the USA and global leadership team.
  • Actively engage in sales activities, including prospecting, lead generation, and closing deals across the Iowa region.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and partners to drive sales growth.
  • Conduct market research and analysis by staying updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities in the agricultural sector. Gather insights on customer preferences, needs, and pain points to tailor sales strategies and product positioning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and global teams to ensure customer input is considered throughout product development initiatives by Loam’s Product Agronomy, Agronomy and Marketing teams.
  • Attend relevant trade shows, conferences, and industry events to showcase the company's products and build brand awareness. Network with industry professionals, potential customers, and key stakeholders to establish strategic partnerships and generate new sales leads.
  • Maintain an active interest in agricultural climate-positive solutions by continuously educating oneself about the latest developments, research, and innovations in climate-positive agriculture practices and microbial products
  • Provide feedback regarding customer usage to Product Agronomy, Agronomy and Marketing.
  • Present, promote, and sell sustainability and regenerative agriculture services to prospective dealers and farmers.
  • Credibly, openly and accurately communicates capabilities as well as limitations of regenerative agricultural practices.
  • Strong understanding of ag inputs and diverse application practices, including conservation and regenerative ag practices.
  • Plan and develop dealer/distributor network in specified territory according to the agreed market development strategy.
  • Collect accounts receivables and follow up on accounts that are slow in paying.
  • Strong ability to manage objections from the field, ask the right questions and propose product solutions.
  • Customer oriented, with a demonstrated ability to respect and earn the respect of farmers and dealers partners.
  • Plan and organize sales activities and customer/prospect contact towards achieving agreed business goals.
  • Understands GPS technology; experience with precision farming products preferred.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of software platforms frequently used in the agribusiness sector.
  • Attend farm shows to promote the use of products and services.

Geographical Territory: Iowa and southern Minnesota

Requirements

About You:

The ideal candidate for this position will possesses exceptional interpersonal skills and a positive attitude. They excel in building strong relationships, communicating effectively, and inspiring team members. With a problem-solving mindset and resilience, they embrace challenges and drive sales success. Preferred background:

  • 10+ years of experience in sales and/or business development, preferably within agricultural product sales
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
  • Excellent problem solving & troubleshooting.
  • Proficient at managing time, priorities, and expenses.
  • Self-starter, reliable and able to work independently.
  • Proficient in communication software tools and Google Suite applications.
  • This role is remote, with the expectation to manage/travel in the Northern Plains region of the United States. Ability and willingness to travel up to 60 to 70% within assigned geographical territory.
