As the Senior Director, Product Management, Product Line Strategy Lead - Energy Storage Systems, you responsible for leading a team to develop and execute global strategies to ensure the success and growth of Fluence BESS product lines.  This role requires a seasoned strategist with a deep understanding of the energy landscape, emerging trends, global utility markets and requirements, have managed a product line to satisfy a global customer base and have a proven track record of successfully bringing innovative products to market.

What does a Senior Director, Product Management do at Fluence?

  • Strategic Planning and Execution:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive global strategy for the Energy Storage Systems product lines, aligned with the overall corporate objectives.
  • Conduct thorough market analysis, identify growth opportunities, and formulate strategies to expand market share and penetrate new or emerging target markets.
  • Product Positioning and Differentiation:
  • Define and communicate the unique value proposition of our Energy Storage Systems, ensuring clear differentiation in the market.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop compelling messaging and marketing strategies.
  • Market Research and Analysis:
  • Stay abreast of global energy storage market trends, technological advancements, and competitive landscapes.
  • Utilize market insights to make informed decisions and adjustments to the product strategy.
  • Financial Management:
  • Develop and manage budgets for the Energy Storage Systems product line, with a focus on maximizing profitability and ROI.
  • Implement pricing strategies that balance competitiveness with profitability goals.
  • Global Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, industry partners, and regulatory bodies.
  • Collaborate with regional teams to tailor strategies based on local market conditions and regulatory requirements.
  • Product Lifecycle Management:
  • Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from concept development to end-of-life, ensuring products meet or exceed market expectations.
  • Work closely with engineering, supply, manufacturing, logistics, commercial and regional teams to drive continuous product improvement and innovation.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead a global team of product managers and specialists, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities to team members.
  • What does the ideal candidate look like?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Extensive experience (10+ years) in product management, strategy, or business development, preferably in the energy sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of energy storage systems, battery technologies, and the broader renewable energy landscape.
  • Proven ability to translate market insights into actionable strategies that drive business growth.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with a track record of influencing and collaborating across organizational levels.
  • Experience in managing global teams and navigating complex, matrix organizational structures.
