In this role, you will be leading the Battery Electrochemistry and Battery Analytics teams. You will be creating and executing strategies that allow Fluence to integrate cutting-edge chemistries earlier and successfully.

Responsibilities include:
Deliver the objectives from Product Management on-time with excellenceUnderstand current battery chemistry capabilities as well as analytical tools needed to better integrate and understand these chemistriesFind or create the most cutting-edge tools for better understanding of cell electrochemistry and associated analytical modelsAnticipate new battery chemistries developing a technical position on the benefits, risks and implementation of these chemistries. Understand the analytical tools needed to integrate and utilize these chemistries successfullyUnderstand the competitive landscape for analytics and data management.Determine strategies and partnerships to further Fluence’ capabilities.Create and oversee advanced testing and manufacturing plans that allow Fluence to understand characteristics of the cell faster in the product lifecycleWork with Purchasing partners to assess supplier engineering/manufacturing capabilityAbility to collaborate with teams outside of Engineering to reach Fluence overriding goalsTravel as needed up to 25% What you will bring to Fluence:
M.S. in Engineering (PhD preferred) 10+ years in the development and testing of electrochemistry and/or battery analytical modelingExtensive knowledge of cell electrochemistryExtensive knowledge of cell analytical modelingExtensive knowledge of cell manufacturing processes and how these processes affect cell data and quality metricsExperience with staffing projects – especially where highly ambiguous or involving new technologyExperience developing a positive culture with a high performing, fun teamExperience with managing supplier development, especially related to advanced chemistryExperience creating complex cell characterization setups (life, thermal, etc.)Experience with handling and analysis of large data setsStrong technical communication skillsExperience leading teams or projects where scope is large and ambiguousPassion for batteries, sharing know-how, and learning from others
