What You’ll Do:
- Program and operate multi-axis CNC machines at Archer’s R&D facility
- Machine composite parts, foam masters and assembly jigs
- Own CNC portion of shop; organize area, maintain equipment, purchase and inventory tools and consumables needed to keep area operational
- Provide feedback to manufacturing engineering on tooling and fixturing design
- Drive tooling strategies and fixture development for prototype builds, balancing the need for high precision with practical solutions suited to rapidly evolving programs
- Provide solutions or alternative approaches to solve technical manufacturing problems
- Perform inspections and measurements of product dimensions using basic measuring tools, calipers, micrometer, depth gauges, etc.
- Support engineering activities including prototype development, proof of concept studies, and process validation
- Train technicians on basics of operating the machines
What You Need:
- 10+ years CNC machining and programming experience
- 5+ years of experience machining composites
- 5+ years designing and manufacturing fixtures and tooling
- Manual Mill and Lathe experience
- Excellent documentation and written communication
- Basic knowledge of drafting standards (read and interpret construction and mechanical drawings) to produce parts and assemblies
- Experience with CNC programming software (Mastercam preferred)
- Experience with CAD software (Siemens NX, CATIA preferred)
- Experience using inspection tools (caliper, micrometer, height gauge, etc.)
- Forklift experience
Bonus Qualifications:
- Direct experience with aviation builds and assembly
- Passion for aviation and eVTOLs
- Demonstrated exposure to prototype environment with ability to problem solve
- Experience working in composites shop with exposure to composites processing methods
- Experience with DMS and CMS machines and software

We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the Company’s business strategy. For this position we are targeting a base pay between $122,880.00 - $153,600.00. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
