The Sales and Merchandising Representative (SMR) - NYC Metro area position is an entry-level field sales and merchandising position that supports in-store execution of sales and marketing initiates. The role will work closely with sales and marketing with a primary responsibility to visit retail stores daily to provide customer communication/education on marketing and merchandising initiatives and support increased visibility in priority accounts to drive brand recruitment and increased sales. The SMR will report to the Director of Retail Sales.

The starting annual base pay for this role is between USD $63,000 and $70,000.  The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands.  The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, and benefits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Director of Sales to establish weekly priorities and areas of focus
  • Visit 15 – 20 stores daily improve brand visibility and execution in the market
  • Build relationships with key influencer store category managers
  • Assist in educating and communicating Beyond Meat initiates to store management personnel
  • Ensure Beyond Meat products are well represented in key priority stores
  • Perform store checks, place merchandising equipment, sell in secondary placements, verify OOS, re-stock shelves
  • Update in-store POS as needed
  • Check for Out-Of-Date product and communicate issue to store personnel
  • Execute impactful crew drives and sales blitzes as needed
  • Report weekly summary of activity
  • Qualification

  • 1-3 years of outside, B2B sales (Outside Sales / Account Manager)
  • High level of proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and basic computer programs.
  • Exceptional prospecting, presentation and conceptual selling skills.
  • Must have personal vehicle with clean driver’s license (Motus Requirement).
  • Ability to build long term rapport with customers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong presence and interpersonal skills.
  • At least one year previous package goods, outside, or systems sales experience.
  • Work Environment

  • Must be able to lift weights up to 40lbs
  • Field position working directly with retail customers in a variety of locations
  • Travel: 20% to 30%
