Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated, self-starter who is looking to help transition from a start up office into a strategic and key innovation center at the University of Illinois - Urbana Champaign (UIUC) Research Park Office. You will be the voice of Rivian and will be expected to help drive all the University Partnerships and initiatives between Rivian engineering teams and UIUC research faculties. You will actively seek out areas of applicable research, develop mutually beneficial partnership opportunities and create lasting relationships with faculty and startups at the UIUC Research Park that will provide business value for Rivian.
Additionally, the Site Manager is responsible for partnering with the Rivian University Relations team for on campus recruitment activities while leading student intern teams through the first steps in their career journey as they work on projects that support the core engineering.
Educational Qualifications
Engineering or Computer Science focused Bachelor's degree, and optionally a degree in business. Advanced degree or previous Research Park experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Working in an office separated from the primary corporate locations, this individual will need to be a self-starter who has experience performing in a dynamic and fluid environment.
- You'll be embedded in a dynamic research park environment mixing academic research with entrepreneurs creating new technology. You must be able to connect faculty and startup organizations in the research park ecosystem with internal Rivian stakeholders.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to create and complete student led projects at the Rivian Innovation Center.
- Proven interpersonal skills including the ability to translate complex engineering topics into simple and accessible language for internal team members and interns.
- Experience in growing, inspiring and leading small teams to accomplish outstanding outcomes while building a nurturing, respectful and supportive culture. You are an advocate of inclusion and promote the power of diversity.
