ChargePoint is looking to hire a Regulatory Contractor:  EMC & Safety Test Technician.

Reports To

Senior Director, Regulatory Engineering

What You Will Be Doing

Set up products and carry out safety testing using accredited and consistent methodologies to support UL and other 3^rd party safety certifications.  Tests conducted in-house and at 3^rd party laboratories including:

• Power input/output testing on AC and high power DC systems
• Thermal/temperature testing under various operational and ambient conditions
• Dielectric withstand test
• Working voltage measurement tests
• Abnormal operation tests
• Component fault tests
• Additional tests

Set up products and carry out EMC and wireless testing using in-house and 3^rd party testing laboratories including:

• Radiated emissions
• Radiated immunity
• ESD
• EFT
• Surge
• Conducted Immunity
• Support wireless testing
• Additional tests

What You Will Bring to ChargePoint

• Experience using the tools and instruments needed to perform or prepare for testing, including
  • Oscilloscope
  • DVM
  • Grid Simulator
  • Electronic Loads
  • Temperature data logging equipment
  • Thermocouple welder
• Experience with high voltage and high power mains and dc systems (208/480 V ac, up to 1000 V dc)
• Ability to travel
• Computer skills such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
• Ability to meticulously record data, sample information, equipment information, etc.
• Design and carry out special tests and create reports to communicate the results.
• Ability to read and understand schematics, technical manuals, mechanical drawings, test data sheets,

• Comfortable working in a fast paced environment
• Self-directed and motivated, able to carry out projects without oversight that may have duration from days to months.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability and desire to use tools to automate testing and data collection
• Ingenuity and creativity to build special test fixtures and testing tools
• Conscientious about working safely in a high voltage environment
• Flexible and willing to learn new skills and tackle new challenges

Requirements

• BS EEE desired, AS Electronics or similar acceptable
• Valid Driver License

Desired

• 1 year regulatory testing experience in safety and emc, 3^rd party agency certification experience is a plus.

The targeted US salary range for roles at this operating level is $35,000 to $71,250. This range represents base salary and does not reflect equity, benefits or variable pay where applicable. Actual base salaries are based on several factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications and specific work location.
