About Helion

We are a fusion power company based in Everett, WA, with the mission to build the world's first fusion power plant, enabling a future with unlimited clean electricity. Our vision is a world with clean, reliable, and affordable energy for everyone.

Since Helion's founding in 2013, we have raised over $1 billion from long-time investors such as Sam Altman, Mithril, and Capricorn Investment Group and new investors SoftBank and Lightspeed to propel us forward. Our last prototype, Trenta, completed 10,000 high-power pulses and reached plasma temperatures of 100 million degrees Celsius (9 keV). Now, we're turning up operations for Polaris, working towards delivering the world's first fusion power plant.

More than ever, it's a pivotal time to join us and have the opportunity to solve real challenges to create a better energy future. You will see first-hand how we value urgency, rigor, ownership, and hard truths, knowing it will take each to do what no one has before. Joining us, you will push the boundaries of what's possible and transform humanity for the better - because the world can't wait.

What You Will Be Doing:

We are looking for a versatile R&D Technician with Networking and Audio/Visual (A/V) expertise to help bring the world's most powerful controlled pulsed-fusion device online—with the goal of generating commercial electrical power. This is a hands-on role supporting the assembly, operation, and testing of high-voltage pulsed power systems, with a specialized focus on supporting A/V instrumentation, diagnostics, and real-time monitoring systems used in experimental fusion environments. You'll report to the R&D Technician Supervisor at our Everett, WA office.

You Will:

  • Assemble, install, test and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and A/V diagnostic systems
  • Implement, operate and maintain high-speed cameras, network cameras, microphones, TV wall and other display systems, PA systems, and thermal imagers
  • Document operation procedures for various A/V systems
  • Setup network audio systems
  • Integrate A/V systems with control room interfaces and time-synced recording setups
  • Integrate R&D test equipment with existing networking infrastructure
  • Coordinate with the Information & Technology department on networking infrastructure improvements
  • Document procedures and report equipment performance and diagnostics
  • Work safely at height and in confined spaces

Required Skills:

  • 2+ years in electrical, mechanical, or A/V tech roles in R&D or high-tech environments
  • Experience with A/V equipment (e.g., high-speed cameras, network cameras, encoders, microphones)
  • Familiar with A/V signal flow and integration with diagnostic systems
  • Familiar with audio network system protocols
  • Familiar with network operations, with qualifications such as Network+/A+ and Cisco CCNA
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work at height
