The position involves:
Position requires interfacing with internal stakeholders such as Operations, Finance and Engineering departments and other support functionsManage claims and variations towards customer and construction contractors as well as service providersWorking directly with local project sites and Project / Site Managers to ensure optimum delivery of projectsReporting directly to the Finance department within the EMEA RegionMajor Duties & Responsibilities:
Procurement of sub-contractors and assist in the preparation of contract documentsPreparation of initial project budgets and thereafter maintaining them on a regular basis through the life cycle of the projectPreparation and agreement of variationsPreparation and agreement of valuationsEnsure that a detailed measure of works completed is maintained on an ongoing basisTimely submission of cost/value reconciliationsManage sub-contractor valuations and associated payments Maintain labour cost scheduling in conjunction with the Project Managers and other functionsMaintain accurate cost reporting systems and associated projectionsCompletion of internal monthly cost forecasting and project reviewsPreparation of all final account documentationAssist in developing and improving all relevant IT reporting and control systems within your sphere of operationReview conditions of contract for tenders and advise of areas of riskAttendance at meetings as requiredSkills & Qualifications:
Qualification in Quantity Surveying with a minimum of at least 3 years post qualification experience preferably in a construction environmentHighly IT literate with experience of applying general / specialist packages within QS contextPrevious experience of negotiating and interpreting conditions of contractExcellent communication and negotiation skills combined with the analytical skills to reach realistic workable solutionsA strong commercial focus with an ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.Ability to use initiative to develop new approaches and improve systemsThe flexibility and adaptability to succeed within a demanding business with high levels of motivation and evidence of being a self-starterGood decision making and problem-solving skills and the ability to work on own initiative with minimum supervisionAbility to work effectively as a member of a team and be able to negotiate and use conflict resolution skills where appropriateHighly motivated with strong levels of accountability and ownershipFlexibility to travel throughout the UK when requiredA working knowledge of Standard forms of ContractDesirable criteria:
