Remora is seeking a Purchasing Lead who will be responsible for establishing and growing the purchasing function. The Purchasing Lead will develop purchasing processes and strategies, maintaining and developing positive relationships with suppliers, coordinating with internal teams regarding supply needs, and having overall responsibility for the purchasing process, this person will help tackle the defining challenge of our time.

We’re piloting our technology with some of the largest companies in the world, including three of the Fortune 10, and we’ve raised multiple rounds of funding from leading investors like Lowercarbon Capital, Union Square Ventures, and First Round Capital.

Responsibilities:
Develop and manage procurement processes for custom components that meet technical, commercial and delivery expectations. Managing daily purchasing activities, supervising processes, and allocating tasks. Managing supplier relations and negotiating contracts, prices, timelines, etc.Preparing cost estimates and managing budgets.Creates and maintains bills of material and parts/commodity numbers in a supply chain management system. Gathers quotations, examines bids, and awards contracts. Oversees the cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to ensure the best value at the best quality. Assesses vendor reliability and develops new sources of supply when vendors and suppliers based on development and business needs.Maintaining the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation.Requirements:
