What You Will Be Doing

The Public Policy Intern is responsible for tracking legislation and other policies, as well as providing support to the team on ChargePoint’s legislative objectives throughout tje Midwestern US. While this position is focused on ChargePoint’s policy engagement across the Midwest, the Policy Intern will also support the team with the development of policy briefing material to support policy engagement across the US on an as needed basis. Must be goal-motivated, adaptable in a fast-growing technology company environment, a strategic thinker, and detail-oriented. Successful candidates will have an educational background in public policy or prior work experience working with elected officials and state agencies. Knowledge of electric vehicle, energy or climate policy is preferred but not required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Track and monitor state legislation, and other EV policy proposals
  • Work with ChargePoint’s policy team to develop and execute ChargePoint policy positions and strategy in the Mid-West
  • Assist ChargePoint’s policy team and consultants in meetings with policy stakeholders in the Mid-West
  • Assist in the development of comments, testimony, policy briefs and presentations

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Pursuing or have recently obtained a graduate degree in policy public policy or related field that addresses electric vehicle policy, transportation policy, energy policy, or climate change policy.
  • Ability to speak and write clearly, accurately, and persuasively.
  • Resourcefulness in solving problems with limited resources.
  • Excellent people skills and an upbeat and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills including Excel and PowerPoint.

Remote – Midwestern US

The targeted US salary range for roles at this operating level is $25 to $30. This range represents base salary and does not reflect equity, benefits or variable pay where applicable. Actual base salaries are based on several factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications and specific work location.
