Rainmaker is pioneering a modern cloud seeding system to mitigate water scarcity and inclement weather problems. We develop and incorporate radar and satellite validation, weather-resistant UAS and weather modeling into an effective precipitation enhancement solution.
 
The Program Development Scientist role will own the translation of Rainmaker’s scientific insights into business development opportunities and successes. Responsibilities and standard tasks include guidance of cloud seeding program construction, acting as a scientific expert in customer conversations, interpreting and helping to improve seedability analyses, and serving as a key contributor to feasibility studies and other sales materials. This role is designed to evolve significantly with opportunities to grow into a lead scientist or technical business development leader.

Requirements

  • Ability to work on-site in El Segundo, CA. No exceptions.

  • Masters degree or higher in a relevant field (Atmospheric Science, Atmospheric Chemistry, Meteorology, Hydrology, etc.)

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills

  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional, fast-paced environment. 

  • A proactive and creative mindset for addressing challenges and pursuing new opportunities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry experience, especially at a startup

  • Technical sales experience
