Position: Processing/Packaging Utility

Location:  St. Louis, MO (Hazelwood)

Pivot Bio is looking for Processing/Packaging Utility to join the Pivot Bio manufacturing team in its mission to replace synthetic nitrogen fertilizers with seed-applied nitrogen-fixing microbes resulting in improved crop/nitrogen management that is both convenient and profitable to growers. As a member this team, you will be making a making this groundbreaking product at a large scale.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Work in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to company safety policies
  • Identify and communicate workplace safety hazards
  • Adhere to safety management standards and OSHA/ANSI compliant policies
  • Perform routine cleaning of equipment and work area
  • Set up and operate production equipment, troubleshoot basic process faults, and make required adjustments to ensure quality and efficiency
  • Safely changeover, start-up, and shutdown of all equipment in assigned work area. This could include, grinding, packing, blending, or freeze-drying equipment
  • Manually load ingredients into milling and blending equipment
  • Palletize finished goods into totes for shipping
  • Use forklift or walkie stacker to move material around facility, load, or unload trucks

Qualifications and Experience 

  • Must be willing to work on weekends as needed
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and ability to input data into a computer
  • Can stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Can climb, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and stretch for extended periods
  • Can repeatedly lift, carry, push, pull, and handle products
  • 3+ years of experience in a Manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experience driving a forklift preferred

Salary Range:   $20.15 - $25.19

 All remote positions and those not located in our Berkeley, Hayward or Boston locations are paid based on National Benchmark data.  Following employment, growth beyond the hiring range is possible based on performance.
