Role Summary:

The Process Configuration Specialist role focuses on the creation and deployment of systematic developments in SAP for the Production Control department. You will be responsible for root causing the discrepancies in Controlling Goods Issued errors along with testing new applications and building tools through Power BI, Tableau, Excel, and various platforms. In addition, the role will be responsible for creating metrics and administers on-the-job training. The opening will be located at our Normal, IL facility and reports directly to the Process & Configuration Manager.


Responsibilities:

  • Works with teams to understand warehouse configuration setups for new and changes to materials
  • Reviews released engineering change data and performs necessary changes
  • Extracts, analyzes, and manipulates data to present to leadership team
  • Creates, updates, and maintenance of storage types, control cycles, and storage bins for all material within SAP
  • Designs the overall planning activities from a systems aspect for new models and major events
  • Communicates system changes that affect the department and/or group
  • Investigates and formulates root cause to fix COGI (Controlling Goods Issued) errors
  • Provides recommendation for new workflows and features within SAP
  • Supports receiving and inventory grief
  • Builds data analytic visualization tools to help track KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)
  • Researches issues that cause production downtime and/or shortages
  • Supports material flow and sequencing recommendations for improvement
  • Instructs new hire onboarding SAP training as needed
  • Engineers new systematic business strategies while mapping material flow initiatives
  • Audits (Standard Operating Procedures) to identify opportunities
  • Calculates and participates to the department Annual Business Plan
  • Participates implementation of RIOS (Rivian Integrated Operating System)
  • Collaborates the production control and production teams
  • Develops, improves, and maintains standard work
  • Able to work on any shift for a specific time period
  • Exhibit “Rivian Compass” in everything you do
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain, or program management or equivalent experience required
  • Comprehensive experience with Enterprise Resource Planning “ERP” software such as SAP required
  • EWM experience preferred
  • Intermediate to Expert knowledge in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook programs for analysis, calculations, and reporting
  • Intermediate knowledge in Tableau and Power BI
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment, and ability to synthesize report on information to relay to appropriate business partners
  • Coordinates tasks and responsibilities while implementing systematic changes
  • Experience reporting out, creating, and managing KPIs in a production environment
  • Ability to meet deadlines and stay within budget
  • Strong team orientation and cross functional attitude
  • Highly organized, with suitable time management skills and acute attention to detail
  • 3 to 5 years of previous experience preferred
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in high volume manufacturing environment (automotive preferred)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as governmental regulations, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to author routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to communicate in a high-pressure environment.
