About the company:

Aquicore is the leading ESG data and analytics platform that empowers real estate to take the actions necessary to achieve net zero carbon. Through flexible data collection, sophisticated analytics, and deep expertise, Aquicore supports the world's largest real estate institutions in obtaining high quality ESG data, identifying and executing comprehensive ESG improvement strategies, and achieving energy and GHG emissions reduction targets portfolio-wide. The Aquicore platform is currently deployed across more than 1,000 buildings and 400 million square feet with leading owners and operators of real estate, including Tishman Speyer, Bridge Commercial Real Estate, EQ Office, DWS, and Columbia Property Trust.

🌳 Infogrid began in 2018 on a mission to make buildings more sustainable, buildings account for 39% of global carbon emissions and we’re creating real solutions to impact this!

🚀 We have amazing products solving real world problems, come and join us in either the UK or US and help drive our mission forward.

We have an opportunity for an exceptional technical leader, capable of defining and executing a comprehensive engineering architecture and technical vision. This is not about purely technical goals; this is about connecting the business needs to an architectural vision that will enable Infogrid to integrate a recent acquisition’s tech stack, build new and innovative products, and modernise the existing data, application, and infrastructure architectures in doing so.

We are looking for someone who is capable of devising a cohesive technical vision as well as executing the vision successfully in a hands-on manner.

We have a young company environment, where the sky's the limit, but nothing comes for free. You should also know that we are a startup with limited resources operating in a competitive market. Everything moves fast, including our priorities. Sometimes it can be chaotic. Outcomes are not certain, but each day you will do work that has impact.

Come save the world with us!

❤️ Feel good about your work: Infogrid is actively helping big companies reduce their environmental footprint. We also offset everyone’s carbon footprint.
🤸 We’re flexible: We encourage remote working and offer flexible working hours to everyone.
🌍 We're passionate: everyone is passionate about the mission and how the work we do helps our planet
🫶 Work with great people: work alongside incredibly talented and supportive within a small but mighty workforce

And we'll do everything we can to support you during your application. If you need us to make any adjustments to your recruitment process, speak to our recruitment team who will be happy to support you.

Why might you want to join us?

  • We try to be good people to work with – we value collaboration, outcomes over egos, and kindness.
  • We’re a startup. Every day is different.
  • We have an amazing group of engineers, building and maintaining a variety of products that already help our customers today.
  • We have legacy products and a recent acquisition which, in combination, pose a great technical challenge of modernisations, building for scale, and unification.
  • Interesting data sources – largely IoT – sensors, energy meters, custom hardware, utility ingest.
  • You can help save the world. Infogrid exists to reduce the energy used by buildings.
  • What will you be doing day-to-day?

  • Responsible for the overall architecture vision and tactical execution plan that powers the Infogrid Platform and Products.
  • Leverage a team of technical leads who have domain expertise, to drive overall technology strategy forward.
  • Working across the entire business to exploit the skills and technology of the engineering team, wherever they can make a difference.
  • Building, nurturing relationships across the entire business, so that building for scale, maintainability, and efficiency is embedded into what we do, everywhere that that makes sense.
  • Make informed technical decisions that support the product strategy. Perform architectural analysis and design for systems spanning our entire portfolio and expected future direction.
  • Introduce and uphold state of the art engineering standards, architectural governance, design patterns, and practices.
  • What we’re looking for:

  • Masters Degree in Computer Science, a related field, or comparable work experience.
  • Technical leadership experience in a highly technical area of a SaaS growth company.
  • Being comfortable with the overall responsibility and accountability to create, and maintain a technical strategy and execution plan.
  • Track record of anticipating technical problems that will fall out of major projects and designing solutions to overcome those problems.
  • Proven track record of distilling ambiguity to clarity and direction.
  • Demonstrated expertise with building and/or significantly improving large, business-critical systems involving stability, security, performance, and scalability.
  • Time-honed expertise with modern SaaS across the entire lifecycle: development, testing, staging, deploying, and monitoring.
  • You have knowledge of, and ideally concrete experience with, IoT sensors and the modelling of physical systems (for example, digital twins).
  • You have previous experience working closely alongside senior managers and leaders in diverse disciplines to accomplish common goals, including where initial requirements are poorly defined and careful clarification is necessary.
  • You are able to influence others to see fresh perspectives and modify their priorities, in light of the technical opportunities that you advocate for.
