Your role and your team:

You will report directly to the Safety and Reliability Manager and work closely with all our Engineering Teams.

Our Airworthiness Team plays a critical role in bringing our vision to life. We act as the key interface between Lilium and the relevant authorities who are responsible for the safety and certification of the Lilium Jet. As well as helping to shape the regulatory environment that our aircraft will be certified in, we also support our in-house design teams to ensure our aircraft will meet the required standards for certification.

As a System Safety and Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the design teams by performing system safety and reliability activities ensuring that the safety objectives are compliant with the required regulations.

 

Your Day to Day:

  • Working with the System Design Teams and suppliers on system architecture, functionality, and design to ensure compliance against the safety targets defined by the regulations.
  • Performing system-level safety analysis such as SFHA/PSSA/SSA as well as contributing to aircraft safety assessment studies including PRA, ZSA, CMA, MMEL.
  • Performing reliability analysis using tools such as reliability block diagrams, reliability predictions, FMEA/FMECA.
  • Compiling Safety and Reliability Documentation in support of the Lilium Jet design and certification activities.
  • Generating safety compliance statements against SC VTOL and other referenced specifications/regulations.

Your Profile:

  • BSc/MSc in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar field.
  • 8 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Knowledge of CS 23/27.1309, SC VTOL.2510 or equivalent.
  • Experience with undertaking rotorcraft/fixed-wing safety assessments, per SAE ARP4761 and SAE ARP4754A.
  • Familiarity with DO178B/C and DO254.
  • Experience in System Reliability tools.
  • Target-oriented with analytic problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to perform several systems safety tasks in parallel.
  • Critical thinker and self-starter.
  • Proficient in the English language.
