Help us make a big green dent in the universe. We're on a mission to drive the global renewable energy revolution, and we need loads more people to help us make our vision a reality.

OE Generation is one of Europe’s leading and most experienced specialist renewable energy and transition investors. We currently manage investments in energy generating assets valued in excess of £5.6 billion. The team is structured to support our rapid growth ambitions and long-term ownership of energy assets.

It is our ambition to change the entire energy lifecycle and make every green electron matter, delivering the best outcomes for customers, investors, the environment and society, accelerating the transition to net zero.

Reporting to the Senior Portfolio Manager and Valuations Lead, this position will provide direct support to the process to perform quarterly bottom-up asset level valuations across all of our renewables portfolios, alongside having specific responsibility for an assigned portfolio of assets. For this portfolio of assets, your role is to understand and deliver against all investor requirements which includes reporting, valuing portfolio investments, forecasting and calculating distributions and investor communications.

We strongly encourage applications from a variety of candidates - we believe that different experiences result in increased ideas, collaboration and success. The first stage of the process will include a run through of our company culture, as well as a conversation around what is important for you in your next role.

If this sounds like you then we'd love to hear from you.

Studies have shown that some groups of people, like women, are less likely to apply to a role unless they meet 100% of the job requirements. Whoever you are, if you like one of our jobs, we encourage you to apply as you might just be the candidate we hire. Across Octopus, we're looking for genuinely decent people who are honest and empathetic. Our people are our strongest asset and the unique skills and perspectives people bring to the team are the driving force of our success. As an equal opportunity employer, we do not discriminate on the basis of any protected attribute. Our commitment is to provide equal opportunities, an inclusive work environment, and fairness for everyone.

What you'll do

  • Valuations process: You will work directly with the Valuations Lead to support the process to perform quarterly bottom-up asset level valuations across all of our renewables portfolios. This will include benchmarking, collecting and analysing transactions data, undertaking detailed assumptions reviews and sense-checking outputs from financial models owned by the Fund Management Team to ensure our portfolio valuations reflect fair value.
  • Equity investment modelling: You will proactively monitor your assigned portfolio companies and/or renewable energy assets through creating, maintaining and improving portfolio company and operational asset models. You will deliver accurate and timely quarterly valuations, updating models and undertaking detailed assumptions reviews and checking outputs from peers.
  • Cashflow forecasting: You forecast cash within your assigned portfolios and work with the Senior Portfolio Manager to provide a coherent and accurate cashflow forecast across all invested assets.
  • Debt modelling You will understand the debt structures in place within your asset portfolios and ensure that all lender requirements are understood and complied with. You will work with the Investments team on project finance where appropriate and build your knowledge in this area.
