Centre for Net Zero (CNZ) is an impact-driven research unit established by Octopus Energy in 2021. We deliver pioneering research to make the future energy system a reality and work at the intersection of tech, energy and climate. Through our access to millions of Octopus Energy data sets and customers globally, we use field trials, experimentation and modelling to design a people-centred future energy system. Our impact-driven focus means that we translate research and analysis into action, working with governments, policy-makers, academics and urban leaders from around the world to deliver systemic change.
Applicants should note that whilst we are part of the Octopus Energy Group of companies and work closely with other group companies including Octopus Energy, we are an autonomous and separate organisation that sets our own research agenda.
We are looking for an experienced policy professional with good accompanying communications experience. This role will both lead and support policy, communications, campaigns and engagement activities focused on bridging the gap between CNZ’s raw research findings, and real world energy system change. The candidate will draw on their knowledge of the energy industry and its political and policy environment to build relationships and influence diverse stakeholders.
CNZ’s research is novel, so the candidate will need to be comfortable leading and directly contributing to activities where the thinking is new and original and the ability to fall back on established views is limited. You will regularly need to get to grips with technical concepts and analyse and interpret data, synthesising research findings and sharing implications with policy-makers and industry to drive meaningful change.
Closing date: 12:00 on February 15th 2023
If you are interested in the Centre for Net Zero please send us over your details along with a bit about you and why you're interested.
