Position Summary
We are seeking an exceptionally driven and passionate individual to join our solid-state thermal battery engineering team. You will collaborate with internal engineering and operations teams to safely operate first-of-a-kind industrial installations of the Antora thermal battery. You will be a key technical member of a cross-functional and rapidly growing organization. Your work will directly contribute to the demonstration of a first of a kind long-duration energy storage technology.
Roles & Responsibilities
The operator will be solely responsible for the Antora site during their shift, they will control and monitor the equipment and handle any minor upsets or equipment problems that occur during their shift. Escalating as required for additional support from their manager or Antora technical staff.
- Set-up, operate, configure, and maintain machinery
- Operate and run the facility through the plant SCADA system
- Responsible for ensuring the system tests are properly executed and that the system runs smoothly and at capacity, and is properly maintained
- Troubleshoot issues and perform maintenance
- Perform quality control, follow reporting and recordkeeping procedures, and report problems to supervisor
- Comply with all safety and health regulations
- Clean machinery and maintain cleanliness in work area
- Help with site package receiving and inventory control
Key Qualifications
- High School degree or GED, AA or AS technology degree preferred. Other technical certificates such as mechanical or electrical or automotive technician training is a plus.
- Experience using common hand and power tools safely
- Strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated experience working on teams in fast-moving environments and under pressure
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in different units of measurement
- Ability to lift heavy equipment, to bend, and to stand or walk for long periods of time
- Willingness to work in shifts (late or early hours, weekends, and overtime if necessary)
- Strong communication skills
Additional Qualifications Desired
- 5+ years operating experience operating equipment in an industrial facility utilizing SCADA equipment, or similar relevant experience
- Previous lifting operations experience (fork lift, rigger, crane operator, etc.)
Location: While our core team is concentrated in the San Francisco Bay Area and our headquarters is in Sunnyvale, CA, this role will initially require the candidate to be at site in San Joaquin, CA with options to relocate to the Sunnyvale area after ~1-2 years.
Salary Range: $35.00 USD - $45.00 USD
Salary Basis: Hourly

The actual salary offered will be determined within the posted range based on a candidate's experience, credentials, and expertise as they pertain to the requirements of the position.
