The Outbound Yard Logistics Lead is responsible for leading all finished vehicle outbound logistics operations at Zoox’s Hayward and Fremont facilities. This role owns dispatch execution, yard operations, and coordination with third-party logistics (3PL) partners to ensure safe, compliant, and timely delivery of finished vehicles to Zoox service centers across the United States.
This position leads on-site logistics teams, partners closely with Manufacturing for finished vehicle handoff, and drives continuous improvement across cost, service, safety, and quality. The ideal candidate is a hands-on logistics leader with strong transportation compliance knowledge, operational discipline, and experience managing high-volume automotive logistics.
In this role, you will:
Lead all outbound finished vehicle yard operations at the Hayward and Fremont sitesDispatch and coordinate daily finished vehicle movements with internal drivers and 3PL transportation partnersEnsure timely, accurate, and damage-free delivery of finished vehicles to Zoox service centers nationwideOversee vehicle staging, loading, and shipment executionEnsure all transportation activities comply with DOT, HOS, and safety regulationsManage shuttle/transfer of vehicles from Manufacturing to the Outbound yard. Drive a truck and trailer for these shipmentsQualifications
5+ years of relevant experience in transportation or logistics operations3+ years of experience leading drivers or frontline teams in a transportation environmentForklift experience Experience with SAP Transportation Management System Valid CDL (Class A) with hands-on Class A driving experience. Ability to drive and ship vehicles from Bay Area sites when neededStrong expertise in DOT and Hours of Service (HOS) regulations, ensuring safe and compliant operationsExperience dispatching high-volume automotive or finished vehicle logisticsBonus Qualifications

Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions—including high heat, cold, rain, or snow—for up to 90% of the shift. This role requires standing and walking on concrete or uneven asphalt surfaces for 8–12 hours per day, with continuous movement between the production floor, loading docks, and yard areas.Must be able to regularly lift and move items up to 50 lbs independently, and perform frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and climbing to inspect trailers, check undercarriages, secure loads, and operate equipment.Ability to drive a truck and trailer, operate that equipment, trailer doors, pre- and post-trip inspections, tie downs etc. Regular on-site presence at both Fremont and Hayward finished vehicle yardsLocal travel between facilities is required
