Here at Octopus Energy ECO we’re responsible for delivering the government ECO and Great British Insulation Scheme (GBIS) on behalf of Octopus Energy. We are super passionate about helping customers on low income and benefits to improve the insulation in their homes to help reduce bills and carbon emissions. 🐙

A new exciting opportunity has arisen to join us as Operational Excellence Manager supporting our in house Installation teams. You’ll lead projects, continuous improvement initiatives and change programmes to help our ECO business scale and become more efficient. This is a key appointment within our ECO business and you’ll be joining at an exciting time as we rapidly scale up activity building out our own installer teams throughout the UK.

This role is remote with some occasional travel to our wonderful Nottingham office.

What you'll do

  • Continuous improvement is key; optimising processes, building incremental increases in delivery - and ensuring that best practice is adopted and evolved
  • Analyse existing processes to identify areas for improvement, streamline workflows, and eliminate bottlenecks
  • Work closely with the ECO leadership team to support trialling ways of working, introducing new products, processes and practices and delivering sustainable improvements 
  • Identifying opportunities to reduce contacts, automate processes or improve customer experience 
  • You will work with cross-functional teams to prioritise the biggest opportunities to improve delivery throughput and quality, and how to test, roll out and track updates to teams
  • You’ll help create a high-performance, data-driven culture, supporting the team to deliver performance, share best practices, and drive innovation across ECO. 
  • Identify, facilitate, and manage any projects and tasks that target improvements in the optimisation of the full customer journey
  • Foster a sense of unity and purpose across the wider team, ensuring all team members are aligned with the mission and feel part of the journey. 
  • Build constructive, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, encouraging a culture of iterative delivery, continuous learning, open communication and feedback.
  • Work with internal teams to define programme outcomes and create colleague centric plans to bring outcomes to fruition. Including setting expectations, developing a detailed project plan, defining the scope of the project, managing project risks and budget.
  • What you'll need

  • Continuous Improvement: Experience leading and facilitating continuous improvement initiatives across the operation, focusing on enhancing processes, service delivery, and efficiency
  • Project Management: Able to bring together direct and indirect stakeholders to deliver on multi faceted plans
  • Change Implementation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement changes effectively, ensuring minimal disruptions to ongoing operations.
  • Solution focus: Showing a innovative approach especially with regards to resolution of issues
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Comfortable creating and using data to drive insights and support decision-making. 
  • Commercial Awareness: An understanding of how to deliver strong performance within defined commercial parameters. 
  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: Ability to identify opportunities and work autonomously to scope and deliver initiatives to continuously improve performance
