As the NPI Manager at Fluence, you have the knowledge and skill set to:
•Collaborate cross functionally across a matrix of functions throughout the program/projects.
•Oversee all aspects of NPI projects, including planning, scheduling, resource allocation, risk assessment, training, and issue resolution. Ensure that NPI projects are completed on time and within budget.
•Coordinates and tracks product development process (PDP) for NPI deliverables with collaborative efforts with product development engineers, project management, quality, manufacturing, buyers, finance, planners, and production.
•Identify and clearly communicate potential manufacturing risks associated with NPI and develop mitigation plans to address them proactively.
•Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the NPI process to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and drive to implementation.
•Works with engineering to identify preliminary critical parts, long-lead parts and inspection requirements. Assists/leads in developing supplier and commodity road maps to engineering.
•Collaborate on make vs. buy opportunities and drive alignment/decision with key stakeholders.
•Ability to analyze BOMs to identify cost reduction opportunities through design, content reduction/should cost and commercial means; track and ensure timeline implementation of such opportunities.
•Ability to provide a forecast for CAPEX expenditures in advance (tooling, fixturing, test equipment, etc)
•Use standard tools, dashboards and BKMs to assess supplier capability, overall capacity modelling, ability to support rapid demand increase, prototyping, ability to support volume manufacturing, and vertical integration (e.g. parts, cleaning, assembly capabilities) to support sourcing decisions.
•Ability to execute and assist NPI pilot and qualification builds to ensure performance specs are met and issues are captured and resolved prior to phase gate exits.
•Materials
•Develop or execute manufacturing strategy and collaborate with materials team to achieve product material cost to ensure proper execution in early PDP phases.
•Present sourcing, cost, supplier/part risk, lead time reduction, capacity initiatives to key stakeholders, management, and internal customers
•Establish new-part lead times, understand long-lead drivers and develop lead time mitigation strategies.
•Manage relationships with suppliers and vendors to secure necessary resources and ensure timely delivery of components and materials for NPI projects.
•Quality & Reliability
•Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and efficiency of the NPI process. Report progress to upper management.
•Collaborate with quality and engineering teams to resolve supplier quality issues for assigned product groups. Escalate issues to Commodity Business Managers (CBM) when necessary.
•Validate quality control measures to ensure that new products meet the required quality standards
•Regulatory Compliance
•Collaborate with compliance engineers with all relevant industry regulations, standards, and company policies throughout the NPI process.
Minimum Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
•4-7 years proven experience in supply chain management, project management, and NPI leadership roles.
•Strong understanding of supply chain processes, logistics, and procurement.
•Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
•Proficiency in project management tools and software.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•Knowledge of quality management systems and regulatory requirements.
•Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
•Team player with the ability to collaborate across departments and functions.
•Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
