We’re looking for passionate, driven, and ambitious people to join our fast-growing team.

We are seeking a passionate, driven, and ambitious undergraduate student studying
Food Science, Food Engineering, or related fields to join our team for a summer
internship. This student will perform basic and essential product development (PD)
duties using NF’s proprietary FY protein to create a wide range of alternative meats,
dairy-free foods, snacks, and convenience foods. They will obtain an understanding of
the industry by working in a fast-paced product development lab that works across
many food segments.

This is a paid internship based in Chicago. Duration is flexible depending on the
candidate's academic schedule

Primary Responsibilities

  • Routinely support the PD team with projects developing innovative new products in the alternative proteins space. 
  • Intern will assist in batching, analytical testing, flavor screening, Quality Control (QC) equipment calibration, keeping lab materials stocked, and helping maintain a clean and orderly laboratory.
  • Will learn formulation and food processing basics across a wide variety of food matrices.
  • Will also spend hands-on time in the Pilot Plant and QC Department to understand the complete product development process
  • Qualifications and Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree and must have completed your junior year of college with a concentration in Food Science, Nutrition Science or related field
  • Proficiency with Google Suite and ability to catch on to other technologies quickly.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to adapt to fast-paced work environment with changing priorities
