Help us make a big green dent in the universe. We're on a mission to drive the global renewable energy revolution, and we need loads more people to help us make our vision a reality.

We’re looking for a Technical Assurance professional to support our Octopus Trusted Partner (OTP) network as part of the Heat Pump team.

The Cosy heat pump from Octopus Energy is our own in-house designed and built system - engineered end-to-end by us to deliver smarter, more efficient, low-carbon heating for homes.

This hybrid role focuses on the mechanical safety, compliance, and quality of Cosy heat pump installations, requiring a solid understanding of ASHP systems and heating integration. You’ll play a key role in ensuring installations carried out by third parties meet expected mechanical and technical standards, supporting complex queries, and helping to resolve escalations effectively.

You’ll act as a trusted technical point of contact between OTPs, technical design engineers, and wider Octopus Energy Services teams, ensuring issues are managed end-to-end and standards are upheld.

If this sounds like you then we'd love to hear from you.

Are you ready for a career with us? We want to ensure you have all the tools and environment you need to unleash your potential. Need any specific accommodations? Whether you require specific accommodations or have a unique preference, let us know, and we'll do what we can to customise your interview process for comfort and maximum magic!

Studies have shown that some groups of people, like women, are less likely to apply to a role unless they meet 100% of the job requirements. Whoever you are, if you like one of our jobs, we encourage you to apply as you might just be the candidate we hire. Across Octopus, we're looking for genuinely decent people who are honest and empathetic. Our people are our strongest asset and the unique skills and perspectives people bring to the team are the driving force of our success. As an equal opportunity employer, we do not discriminate on the basis of any protected attribute. Our commitment is to provide equal opportunities, an inclusive work environment, and fairness for everyone.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Booking, coordinating, and carrying out health checks on Octopus Trusted Partner (OTP) ASHP installations

  • Assessing compliance with mechanical standards and best practice (e.g. G3, water regs, MCS,  controls) alongside overall system integration

  • Acting as the primary point of contact for OTP technical queries, escalations, and aftercare issues

  • Supporting and managing mechanical safety or compliance escalations, ensuring timely and appropriate resolution

  • Working closely with technical design engineers, the wider Cosy heat pump team, and OES stakeholders to support OTP requests from initial query through to resolution

  • Providing clear, constructive feedback to partners following health checks, highlighting risks, improvements, and good practice

  • Supporting wider Cosy activity where required, including:

    - Internal mechanical and technical support channels
    - Product development and rollout projects
    - Continuous improvement of assurance processes and standards

  • What We’re Looking For

  • Strong mechanical background with experience in domestic installations (including heat pump experience)

  • Good working knowledge of ASHP systems and heating controls, including how mechanical and electrical systems interface

  • Experience working with installation partners, subcontractors, or field teams in a technical or assurance capacity

  • Confident handling technical discussions, non-conformances, and escalations

  • Organised, pragmatic, and solutions-focused, with strong attention to detail

  • Essential / Desirable Qualifications

    Essential:

  • Recognised mechanical qualification (Level 3 NVQ in Plumbing and/or Heat Pump award)

  • Experience with heat pump installations

  • Desirable:

  • Water Regs & G3

  • Experience with other low-carbon technologies

  • F-Gas, MCS, or similar industry qualifications

  • Any electrical experience with heat pumps

  • Why Join Us?

  • Be at the forefront of mechanical standards in low-carbon heating

  • Work on innovative products like the Cosy Heat Pump, with a growing trusted partner network

  • Be part of the Cosy Heat Pump roll out into Scotland

  • Genuine autonomy and influence over mechanical assurance and partner quality

  • Collaborative, forward-thinking team with opportunities to grow your technical and leadership skills
