Job Description
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Fourth Power Engineering team. You will be responsible for executing experiments in our Carbon Materials roadmap including design of test articles and the design, build, operation, and maintenance of test stands.
Your Role:
Collaborate with Carbon Materials R&D team to define experiments.
Execute experiments, analyze results, and present conclusions as assigned.
Design and 3D model components as required.
Perform light component fabrication as required.
Assemble and maintain test stands.
Create documentation for test stands including standard operating procedures, checklists, and data collection tools.
Develop data collection and processing systems using LabView, Python, MatLAB, and other tools.
Qualifications:
3 years of experience defining, setting up, operating, and analyzing experiments.
Demonstrated experience designing and prototyping mechanical assemblies.
Understanding of typical mechanical engineering fundamentals (heat transfer, fluids, statics, dynamics, structural design).
Proficient in SolidWorks Mechanical.
Proficient with using a high level scripting language (MatLAB and/or Python preferred) to model and iterate on mechanical systems.
BS degree in Engineering or equivalent experience required. Preferably in mechanical, mechatronics, materials, or chemical engineering.
