Role Description
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer II/III to join the Manufacturing Engineering team, a group responsible for meeting the mechanical design and development needs of the entire Advanced Manufacturing organization. Members of the Manufacturing Engineering team scope, design, fabricate, and build fixtures and tooling for rapid prototyping with teams building Form’s pilot manufacturing plant to productize, manufacture and deliver our battery storage systems at scale. If you enjoy collaborating with others to design and build equipment for a variety of complex manufacturing problems, this role is for you!

This opportunity is based out of Form Energy's Eighty Four, PA location (Greater Pittsburgh Area).

What You'll Do:

  • Design, build, and qualify new fixtures, tools, and equipment for rapid prototyping
  • Develop functional design requirements in close collaboration with cross-functional members of Form’s Advanced Manufacturing and broader technology teams 
  • Run an iterative design process, confirming that mechanical and light control requirements are achieved
  • Perform hands-on machining parts and building equipment prototyping of your designs
  • Work with manufacturing engineers and technical operations to transition designs from the prototype stage to high-volume internal production
  • Work with Sustaining Engineering Teams for continuous manufacturing improvements
  • What You'll Bring:

  • Passion for our mission, sustainability, and climate change
  • Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Science, or related field
  • 1 - 4 plus years of industry experience in mechanical design/engineering
  • Hands-on experience machining, fabricating, and building equipment
  • Proficient in computer-aided design (CAD), we use SolidWorks
  • Excellent communicator across a range of engineering and business functions
  • Battery experience is not required!
