We are currently seeking a Manager, Plant Vehicle Engineering for General Assembly. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches their work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective field and possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection in a fast-paced environment.
The Role:
•Manage a team of hardware and software integration engineers at our Advanced Manufacturing Plant in Casa Grande, AZ.
•Lead cross functional efforts between Product Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure successful product integration.
•Engage technical experts and functional team members for driving issue resolution.
•Support root cause analysis and develop containments and permanent countermeasures for implementation on the product.
•Lead your team in troubleshooting and help to remove roadblocks for countermeasure development and implementation.
•Reports to Vehicle Engineering organization but position is in the Manufacturing Plant to support product triage, quality, and engineering development/implementation.
•Some travel is required between the plant in Casa Grande, AZ, logistics operations center in Tempe, AZ and Engineering HQ in Newark, CA
Qualifications:
•10 years automotive experience in Vehicle Design or Vehicle Development
•Experience in automotive manufacturing plants OEM or Tier1 Supplier
•Prior experience with prototype builds or product launch events.
•Knowledge of requirements for vehicle testing (durability, NVH, vehicle dynamics, thermal, aerodynamics)
•Experience managing a team of engineers and technicians in a fast-paced environment.
Advantageous:
•Experience testing fully electric vehicles.
•Experience Vehicle evaluation static and dynamic
•Six Sigma Black Belt
•Experience with Dimensional Variation Analysis or Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.

Education:
Bachelor of Engineering degree in any discipline required, Master’s degree preferred.
