Your role and your team:
You will report directly to the Head of Airworthiness and work closely with our Office of Airworthiness, Independent Systems Monitoring and Engineering Functions.
Our Airworthiness Team plays a critical role in bringing our vision to life. We act as the key interface between Lilium and the relevant authorities who are responsible for the safety and certification of the Lilium Jet. As well as helping to shape the regulatory environment and Design Organisation Approval that our aircraft will be certified in, we also support our in-house design teams to ensure our aircraft will meet the required standards for certification.
As the Manager of Design Organisation, you play a critical role in developing the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Design Organisation Approval to secure EASA and other Competent Authority airworthiness approvals for Lilium products.
Your Day to Day:
· Supporting the Head of Airworthiness in all aspects relating to the setup and operation of an EASA Part 21 Design Organisation Approval
· Leading the development and maintenance of the Design Organisation Handbook procedures and associated processes for Part 21 compliance.
· Ensuring implementation, operation and maintenance of a Part 21 compliant Safety Management System.
· Coordinating EASA DOA initial investigation and continuing surveillance audits.
· Working with the Independent Systems Monitoring team to ensure effective implementation of a Design Management System
· Supporting the Office of Airworthiness to ensure all internal and external findings and actions are closed to satisfy Lilium and regulatory requirements.
· Management of Airworthiness matters and Certification Programmes as required
· Oversight or generation of certification plans in support of Lilium product and type design certification with the Airworthiness Authorities
· Interpreting airworthiness requirements and advising the various departments in all matters related to DOA, airworthiness and certification.
Your Profile
· Experience in working with EASA Part-21 or similar regulations
· Previous authorisation as an EASA Form 4 holder for DOA would be an advantage
· Previous experience in the creation of design organisation procedures in line with regulatory requirements or Engineering Quality standards
· Experience of working with EASA and other airworthiness authorities
· Ability to contribute positively to company objectives
· Literate in Office software and documentation control systems
· Ability to support occasional national and international travel at short notice
· Confident in delivering technical information in presentations
· Proven experience in leading, mentoring and motivating small teams in a design office environment
· Sound project management skills
· Solid interpersonal skills
· Experience of working directly with customers internally and externally at a senior level
· Strong motivation to help build structures and processes
· High level of self-reliance with the ability to work in a team, as well as autonomous
· Target-oriented, driven workstyle with analytic problem solving skills required
· Fluent English language skills are essential, fluent German or any other language would be beneficial.
