We are currently seeking a Manager, Inventory Accounting, to support manufacturing accounting operations at a fast paced, high growth manufacturing company. This individual is a key member of the accounting team, and responsible for accounting and reporting processes to ensure the accuracy and completeness of inventory and gross margin, including but not limited to cost of goods sold, scrap, warranty, and other reserves. This role is highly cross-functional and requires collaboration and significant partnership with a wide variety of teams across the business including IT, operations, logistics, manufacturing and purchasing.

The Role:

  • Manage the monthly financial closing process for inventory 
  • Responsible for recording, reporting and reconciling inventory, COGS, manufacturing/price variances and gross margin
  • Investigate and provide guidance/resolution of reconciling items
  • Identify and analyze key metrics for the Company and provide strategic insights based on that analysis
  • Collaborate with the logistic and operations teams for guiding the inventory verification procedures (physical count, adjustments) for all company managed and owned locations
  • Ensure a robust internal controls structure and compliance with SOX for areas related to inventory and cost of goods sold, support internal and external audit procedures on a timely basis
  • Work collaboratively and/or lead cross-functional teams, troubleshoot issues impacting inventory balance/valuation and ensure adherence to accounting policies and internal controls
  • Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing diverse and dispersed accounting team members 
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • CPA license strongly preferred
  • Current and in-depth knowledge of US GAAP 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing, and/or high-tech, high growth environment 
  • Significant hands-on experience in inventory and cost of goods sold with an ERP system, experience with SAP S4/Hana, is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to identify problems, develop solutions, and implement successful and maintainable process changes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness
  • Supervisory/management experience is a plus
