Lucid is looking for a talented and motivated Engineering Tools Technical Support Manager. This position reports to Director of Product Data and Software Tools and requires an experienced professional who will support the organization with assistance on engineering software tools (e.g., 3DExperience and CATIA etc. plus many others) while managing a diverse team of engineering tools technical support specialists.
The ideal candidate has proven people-management experience and exhibits a proactive attitude with an appreciation for learning. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence and authority in their respective fields and show strong management and interpersonal skills.

The Role / Responsibilities
As an Engineering Tools Manager, you will lead a team whose primary role is to provide technical support to Design Engineers (and others) for the engineering software tools used at Lucid. As part of the manager role, you will develop plans for your team’s career development, headcount plans, performance management and overall budget formation. •Your team will be responsible to:oProvide time-critical technical and methodological support for the use of multiple engineering software toolsoDevelop, train and promote best practices in CAD methodology and data managementoEstablish, maintain and grow the Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for such measures as Design Engineer capability and CAD Quality oWork with a highly intelligent, opinionated, and technically diverse internal customer base with a wide range of experience levelsoProvide clear and consistent communication to multiple stakeholders•In addition to managing the team you will also have authoritative subject matter expertise in critical areas (e.g., CATIA modeling, data management, automotive design processes etc.). You should have direct pragmatic experience with customer support practices such as SLAs, workflows, ticket-tracking systems and customer service management. You will also work with IT/software providers to understand the software capabilities/limitations of toolsets including CAD/CAM/CAE/PDM/PLM.Qualifications:
10+ years’ experience in a mechanical design engineering role, CAD development/support and/or comparable rolesEngineering / manufacturing industry experience preferred – automotive strongly preferredProgram and/or project management experience preferredStrong communication skills for collaboration within the team, across cross-functional teams and with management Approachable and comfortable with developing and maintaining mid/upper-management and user-level relationshipsPrior people-management experience preferredEffective ability to delegate tasks and translate corporate/managerial goals into actionable directionsStrong, systematic problem-solving and data-driven decision-making skills
Required knowledge of Engineering Software Tools:
•3DExperience (preferred) / ENOVIA, CATIA V6 (preferred)/ CATIA V5, Additional Experience preferred:•Work with other related enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, MES etc.)•Manufacturing modeling – DELMIA 3DExperience•Surface design tools - Alias/ICEM•Math Modeling - MATLAB/Simulink•FEA/CFD - SIMULIA, ANSYS, LS-DYNA, Altair Hyperworks•Electrical design tools•Task management and collaboration tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, etc.)•Engineering Software license management modelsEducation:
