About the Role:
The Manager, Commissioning SME (Subject Matter Expert) will lead the commissioning efforts for Crusoe.ai’s data center and infrastructure projects, ensuring that systems and components are designed, installed, tested, and maintained to meet operational requirements. As the commissioning expert, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure a seamless transition from construction to operational readiness. This role focuses on technical expertise, process optimization, and strategic leadership to deliver high-quality, sustainable results.
A Day In The Life:
Develop and oversee the commissioning process for data center systems, including mechanical, electrical, and IT infrastructure
Define commissioning standards, protocols, and documentation to ensure compliance with industry best practices and Crusoe’s operational goals
Lead functional performance testing to verify that systems and components meet design specifications and operational requirements
Identify and resolve issues during testing and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively
Work closely with design, construction, and operations teams to align commissioning activities with project timelines and objectives
Coordinate with external contractors and vendors to ensure their commissioning processes meet Crusoe’s standards
Prepare detailed commissioning reports, including test results, issue logs, and recommendations for operational improvements
Ensure a smooth handover of systems to the operations team with comprehensive documentation and training
Develop and implement strategies to optimize the commissioning process, focusing on efficiency and quality
Stay updated on industry trends and innovations to enhance Crusoe’s commissioning capabilities
You Will Thrive In This Role If You Have:
Strong industry experience in commissioning, with at least 3 years in a leadership or SME role, particularly around the Data Center space
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or certifications (e.g., Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP), LEED AP, or PE license) is a plus
Proven expertise in commissioning gas-fired turbines, electrical infrastructure, UPS, Switchgear, Transformers, Mechanical and HVAC equipment, Fire suppression, data center systems and other mission-critical infrastructure
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and IT systems relevant to data centers
Proficiency with commissioning software and tools such as CxAlloy, Bluebeam, or similar platforms
Familiarity with industry standards such as ASHRAE, IEEE, and LEED commissioning guidelines
Proven ability to lead and mentor technical teams while fostering a collaborative environment
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex systems and implement innovative solutions during the commissioning process

Compensation Range:
Compensation will be paid in the range of $200,000 - $250,000 base salary. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
