Maintenance Engineering Manager

Who You Are

As a Maintenance and Reliability Engineer, you will help Sila to grow a strong, engaged and reliable manufacturing line and facility maintenance team that will support our efforts to consistently produce material with safely operating tools. You will lead our maintenance team’s development and training and implement systems to drive safe, reliable equipment & facilities operations. You will introduce a digital workflow at our current facility for all aspects of maintenance and repair. Once proven and refined, this effort will be adopted to future Sila factories and facilities.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Lead development of all of Sila’s maintenance/facilities and repair SOPs.
• Lead Preventative Maintenance scheduling and tracking in Sila’s ERP system.
• Lead Critical Spare parts program for Sila’s manufacturing line to ensure adequate inventory of spares to support manufacturing operations.
• Identify strategic programs and needs that will allow reliability and maintenance functions to scale efficiently with the company.
• Drive Sila to the forefront of Preventative, Autonomous, and Predictive Maintenance practices.
• Drive improvement projects that support safer and more efficient ways of performing preventative maintenance and tool support
• Provide tactical & administrative leadership to a core group of Maintenance Mechanics.
• Hire, coach, and support talent through consistent feedback, navigation of challenges, and celebration of wins

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

• Bachelor degree or higher in an engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment. High volume manufacturing experience in semiconductor, PV, chemical industry, batteries or similar is preferred.
• Knowledge of maintenance concepts and theory of constraint approaches to manufacturing.
• Strong and demonstrated leadership ability with success in influencing and motivating teams.
• 1yr minimum of management experience preferred

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

• Pass a respirator fit test and be able to wear respiratory protection on a daily basis
• Wear personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, a lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, and steel toe safety shoes
• Move items up to 50 lbs with the assistance of lift equipment and carts
• Move long distances (such as from building to building) and be stationary for extended periods of time
• Reach low shelves or items on the floor
• Enter spaces narrower than 3 feet
• Climb stairs or over containment walls
• Operate a computer and other office equipment, such as a laptop, copier/printer, etc in a fixed location

The starting base pay for this role is between $111,000 and $140,250 at the time of posting. The actual base pay depends on many factors, such as education, experience, and skills. Base pay is only one part of Sila’s competitive Total Rewards package that can include benefits, perks, equity, and bonuses. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
