Overview of the role
Tokamak Energy have an excellent opportunity for an experienced machinist to join our busy Operations team. In addition to having the ability to manufacture precision components and operate and set multi-axis CNC machines, you will also need to be pro-active and self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate well across all levels.
In this role, you will:
• Manufacture of precision components to supplied CAD and drawings
• Operating and setting multi-axis CNC machines with a range of controllers
• Confidently program parts online
• Maintain program and tooling records for all components produced
• Feedback to Mechanical Engineering to improve programs and machining methods
• Responsible for basic inspection of parts to ensure the ongoing quality of machined parts
• To be aware of health and safety legislation and contribute positively to safety standards on the shop floor
Hazard-specific / Safety-critical duties
This job includes the following hazards or safety-critical activities which will require successful pre-employment health screening through our occupational health service before the successful candidate will be allowed to start work:
Requirements
• Must be an experienced craftsperson with a proven track record
• Experience using multi axis CNC Milling machines, CNC Lathes and other General workshop machinery.
• Previous experience in manufacturing small batch precision components, preferably in scientific research, or similar environment.
• Previous experience with XYZ CNC machines.
• Fully Competent with using oneCNC CAD/CAM software
• Full Understanding of Engineering Drawings
