About the Role:
Loam needs custom software to manage our internal and external processes and data. We run thousands of experiments, take hundreds of thousands of measurements, analyse millions of hectares of spatial data, and partner with growers around the world. As we grow, every part of Loam needs to scale efficiently and work seamlessly.
As Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for leading all of Loam’s custom software development and operations. This is a senior technical role involving software design, hands-on software development, and leadership of other software developers.
This role is an opportunity to build from scratch, and to make your mark on the software development practices of the company. You will be using your existing experience in building and deploying modern cloud applications to build a modern, maintainable, scalable cloud architecture at Loam.
Your team will be a mix of in-house and outsourced developers. As lead engineer, you will be responsible for choosing the appropriate software development approach for each project and ensuring the ongoing quality of Loam’s systems.
This position can be based anywhere in Australia, with a preference for New South Wales.

About You:
You are an experienced software developer who has worked in team lead positions. You have broad knowledge of software development practices and processes, and know the importance of building software on top of a solid foundation of engineering culture. This is a role in which you will need to be able to challenge yourself, to learn what is needed, and to take responsibility for all aspects of building great systems. Requirements include:
