ROLE SUMMARY 

The Lead, Facilities Operations Programs will be responsible for building a programmatic framework, managing projects, and ensuring operational excellence for Rivian’s Workplace, Commercial, and Production portfolios globally. This role will create and drive consistency and alignment throughout all site operations and facility typologies. This role will report to the Sr. Manager, Facilities Operations Programs, and will be responsible for a variety of operational-based standards, projects, programs, and process improvements requiring collaboration between the Facilities Operations, Design, Construction, and Real Estate teams as well as other Rivian stakeholders. In true start-up fashion, many of these programs do not exist or have opportunities for refinement as the company scales.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Operational Projects and Programs: The scope of this role will be centered around the employee experience and driving consistency within Rivian facilities. This role will lead a wide variety of projects and programs. These include but are not limited to:
    • New site opening programs
    • Facilities operations quality control programs
    • Workplace technology program
    • Ad-hoc projects
  • Operational Process Creation and Improvement: The Facilities team is tasked with establishing standards and guidelines around various operational scopes; this role will be critical in creating and maintaining these processes throughout the Workplace, Commercial, and Production typologies. Below are a few examples:
    • Operational service levels – establish standards, specifications, and service levels for all facility typologies
    • Operational handbooks – develop handbooks and guidelines with each site team on operational practices such as: commissioning checklists, facilities welcome packets, etc.
    • Facilities communication planning – work with facilities leadership to create company-wide communications on a regular basis.
    • All-hands – collaborate with operations leaders on meeting content and team development activities
    • Document control – collaborate with the operations leaders on SharePoint document control and standards
    • Emergency response programs – partner with Emergency Management, EHS and the operations site leaders on an emergency response protocol for our sites. EHS and Emergency Management will be the primary leads, but many response programs require facility support.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Deep understanding of a fantastic workplace experience
  • Strong oral and written communication
  • Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail
  • Proficient with MS Office tools and other ability to craft digital presentations
  • Proficient in Figma and/or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Proven ability to manage third party vendor relationships

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE  

  • A Bachelor's degree in business administration or any other relatable discipline to the responsibilities and qualifications of the role is required
  • 5+ years’ experience in facilities, workplace, project management or other related field

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

  • This role has been approved as a remote position working from a home office or workspace.
  • While working remotely for Rivian, you are required to designate a workspace within your home for placement and installation of equipment to be used while performing work for Rivian.
  • You are also required to maintain your home workspace in a safe condition, free from hazards and other dangers to you and any Rivian equipment. 
  • Additionally, you must maintain any company materials in your designated work area in a manner that is not accessible to others.
  • The agreement to allow you to work remotely shall not be considered permanent as Rivian reserves the right to reevaluate this arrangement from time to time. 

Salary range for Colorado based applicants: $132,000 - $152,000 annually (Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location and other factors permitted by law)

Salary range for New York City-based applicants: $144,000 - $166,000 annually (Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location and other factors permitted by law)

Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
